The American University of Rome is a non-traditional liberal arts university that offers a distinctive and challenging curriculum, complimented by our small classrooms, international student body, innovative faculty, and elite special programs and guest lecturers. AUR confers undergraduate and graduate degrees and the possibility for students to visit for a semester or winter – summer sessions.
Our campus is located on top of the Janiculum, Rome’s highest hill, in a garden of Roman pines, offering a spectacular view of Rome and its surroundings. The campus is close to two city parks, Villa Sciarra and Villa Doria Pahmphili, as well as other historical landmarks. The area also hosts diplomatic residences and several international academies. The AUR campus is a short 15-minute walk from central Rome.
